About the Department/College The Department of Educational Specialties (ESP) is part of the College of Education (COE) and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in applied behavior analysis, special education, bilingual and multicultural education, career and technical education, and educational technology. Courses are designed with flexibility in mind to support students as they balance work, family, and academic responsibilities, and coursework is directly connected to the knowledge and skills required in applied settings. The Department of Educational Specialties prepares professionals to meet the needs of all learners in today's classrooms and communities. As a core faculty member, the successful candidate will be involved in teaching, accreditation, and programmatic decision-making for the graduate programs in ABA.About the Position The Department of Educational Specialties is seeking a full-time, career- track (non-tenure) faculty position beginning Fall 2026 to coordinate the MEd in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Graduate Certificate programs. The successful candidate will teach asynchronous online courses for students preparing to take the national exam to become BCBAs, as well as lead the process of securing professional association accreditation to meet the BACB's 2032 Pathway 1 requirements. We are interested in candidates who have experience providing behavior analytic services and have mentored and supervised others providing interventions based on the science of ABA. We encourage applications from candidates who have experience with accreditation and program leadership. This position is located on the Flagstaff Mountain Campus.Responsibilities Include Teach online graduate classes in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Support (PBS). Coordinate the MEd in ABA and PBSGraduate Certificate programs preparing future BCBAs to address the market demand for professional practitioners in the field. Lead the process of securing professional association accreditation for the MEd in ABA program to fulfill the BACB's 2032 Pathway 1 requirements. Recruit and advise students in the ABA and PBS programs while teaming with other university departments to promote the admission and matriculation of students. Participate in the development and management of quality assessment within the program. Collaborate with other faculty to promote innovation and continuous improvement in course content and pedagogy. Minimum Qualifications Educational Requirements: An earned doctorate in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. B1 lit. b (postdoc) Limited until: permanent Reference no.: 4718 Founded in 1885, the Department of Geography and Regional Research is the oldest and largest geography department in Austria. It is home to about 150 scientists in 10 working groups and 3,400 students. Since its inception, it has not only grown dynamically but also continuously broadened its focus. Since the beginning, it has accommodated both human and physical geography. The department also has been recognized for its contributions to geoinformatics and cartography. This interdisciplinary basis in computational, social, and natural sciences provides a dynamic and inspiring environment for researchers to address the grand challenges of our time. The department manages four interlinked Master’s programs. To maximize the departments synergies in research and teaching, we are establishing a “Spatial Sustainability and Digital Transformations Hub”. This hub will be in the lead by a senior scientist position responsible for ensuring that the hub’s designated tasks are carried out. The senior scientist will have the opportunity to develop a work plan together with the department leadership and coordinate regularly with the department management to implement the vision of the hub over the next years. The position is initially limited to one year. It may be converted into unlimited employment upon mutual agreement. The hub is anchored within the department as a “shared services” facility, modeled after a Center for Spatial Studies. It thus serves as a central service unit whose services are equally accessible to researchers, lecturers, and students across all working groups of the department. The senior scientists will be supervised directly by the department leadership, i.e., the head and vice-head. Overall, the hub provides services in four areas: Strategy • Research • Teaching • Outreach Strategy The senior scientist is responsible for the continuous development of an interdisciplinary research strategy that integrates the department’s expertise in the social sciences, natural sciences, and data sciences into the key themes of spatial sustainability transformations and spatial digital transformations, with particular emphasis on the intersections of these two fields. Strategy development takes place in close coordination with the heads of the department’s working groups. Through regular strategy workshops, organized and moderated by the senior scientist, the expertise of all researchers at the department is mobilized for the further development and implementation of the strategy. Research The senior scientist coordinates cross-group research activities on the key themes of spatial sustainability transformations and spatial digital transformations as well as on the interface between the two areas within the department and beyond, while also contributing their own research to interdisciplinary projects in this forward-looking field. A particular emphasis lies in the coordination and management of large interdisciplinary research proposals led by the department (e.g., FWF doc.funds, SFB, Horizon Europe). Teaching Existing and newly developed interdisciplinary bachelor’s and especially master’s programs at the department (which are also to include other working groups within the faculty) on the key themes of spatial sustainability and digital transformations require more effective integration of teaching across the individual courses offered. Here, the senior scientist will play a coordinating role, thereby supporting the responsible program directors. Outreach The senior scientist proactively carries out professional outreach activities on the key themes of spatial sustainability and digital transformations, serving as a central point of contact both internally and externally. Following the example of other Centers for Spatial Studies, this also includes outreach activities on spatial thinking in an interdisciplinary context (across subject areas), for example in the form of workshops. For this purpose, the senior scientist develops and implements a science communication strategy in coordination with all working groups of the department. Your future tasks: The responsibilities for the senior scientist position include, among others: Continuous development of an interdisciplinary research agenda and strategy on the topics of spatial sustainability and digital transformations, in close coordination with the department’s working groups and department leadership. Coordination of cross-disciplinary spatial research activities at the institute and beyond. Coordination and management of large interdisciplinary research proposals led by the institute (e.g., FWF doc.funds, SFB, Horizon Europe). Conducting own research and/or contributing to interdisciplinary research projects at the intersection of spatial sustainability and digital transformations. Coordination of science communication activities in the mentioned fields of transformation. Improved integration of teaching across the different courses offered and especially the department’s new Master’s programs. Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer)

We are seeking an enthusiastic anatomic pathologist to join a team of three faculty and one resident in our £11m purpose-built state-of-the-art Veterinary Pathology Centre. This on site role will enhance our 100 strong team of teaching and research staff in the University of Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine. The Veterinary Pathology Centre was built seven years ago and contains both a CL2 (containment level 2) post-mortem area with viewing gallery, and a CL3 post-mortem area. Private diagnostic post-mortems, and APHA (Animal Plant Health Agency) surveillance post-mortems are undertaken at the site.  The role The role will include undertaking diagnostic service, including biopsy and post-mortems, teaching final year (year 5) students on intramural rotations (IMR) post-mortem skills, and participating in lecturing, practical classes, and assessment of year 1-4 undergraduates. Supervision and participation in the residency programme is also expected, and you may be asked to provide CPD activities to external partners from time to time.  This is a permanent post subject to satisfactory performance and is based on site in Guildford. There would be opportunities for individuals to develop their career through research or other aspects as preferred. About you Successful candidates must have a veterinary degree that is registerable with the RCVS, have experience in surveillance and post-mortem services, and be interested in teaching and supervising students in the veterinary pathology aspects of our curriculum. To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills, an appetite for innovative teaching, strong organisational skills and will enjoy working in a team. You will have an interest in broadening your veterinary profile through the development and delivery of undergraduate teaching in veterinary pathology and you will be supported in achieving this by participation in our inhouse, externally accredited Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. In addition to completing this qualification, for those interested in developing further skills in education, study at Masters level (part-time) may also be supported (financially and in time allocation). About you We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with demonstrable experience providing legal advice at senior or executive level. You will have a strong understand of legal frameworks relevant to higher education, charities or the public sector – this may include knowledge of the Higher Education and Research Act, Office for Students regulation, charity law and/or public procurement.  The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in drafting and reviewing comprehensive governance frameworks, policies, and terms of reference, demonstrating a robust technical understanding of both risk management and governance frameworks, coupled with a deep understanding of the governance implications arising from major partnerships, collaborations, and commercial ventures.  The role requires high-level autonomous decision making and expert problem solving in a complex and rapidly evolving regulatory environment - the successful candidate will be expected to interpret ambiguous legislation and must be confident making informed judgements and finding solutions where precedent may be limited or non-existent.
