Gender stereotyping

Pleased as I am with the publication of my article ("Nurses reach sisters online", WEM supplement, THES , May 17), I was disappointed by the gender stereotyping of the headline. Has your headline writer not been watching Casualty ?

About 10 per cent of nurses are men. As a registered general nurse, I had hoped we could get past thinking nurse equals woman, doctor equals man. My wife, a doctor, agrees.
