Aberdeen pushes sport

Aberdeen and the Robert Gordon universities and Aberdeen College are joining forces with Aberdeen Football Club, local councils and Grampian Institute of Sport to turn the city into a centre of sporting excellence.

The partners are drawing up a bid to the Scottish Executive and Sportscotland for new facilities to encourage people of all ages and abilities get involved in sport. Alan Fulton of Aberdeen City Council said:

"We want to make it easier for people to be physically active and simpler for those with talent to achieve."
