The Santos oil company has announced a Aus$25 million (Pounds 16 million), ten-year sponsorship deal to establish a school of petroleum engineering at the University of Adelaide.
It is believed to be the biggest corporate donation in Australian university history. The university expects the school to become fully operational within 18 months by adapting its existing chemical engineering courses to form the first two years of the petroleum engineering degree.
