Heriot-Watt University has opened a department that aims to bring science and management closer together. The department of applied psychology is the first new department Heriot-Watt has set up since becoming a university in 1966. Chris Brotherton, who will head it, said it would cover applied psychology from the workplace, education and sport to health and ageing, and would play a key role in building links between technology and management.
