Blair education target comes under fire

Shadow education secretary Theresa May today attacked Tony Blair's 50 per cent higher education target.

Ms May, who was due to speak at the North of England Education Conference, said that the target could result in people being forced on to unsuitable higher education courses or studying for qualifications ignored by employers.
