The academic watchdog for Cambridge University has called for a complete rethink of governance reforms, independent of the university's council.
The Board of Scrutiny said that an occasional syndicate should carry out the review and that the views of incoming vice-chancellor Alison Richard must be included. It expressed few regrets over academics'
rejection of changes to the university's constitution earlier this year but said the need for reform was pressing.
