Academics at Liverpool John Moores University have called for a public inquiry into the university's decision two years ago to sack transport expert Lewis Lesley for "gross misconduct". In a secret ballot, 94.5 per cent of 183 lecturers' union Natfhe members voted for an inquiry after the university refused to consider new evidence.
