David Chiddick will become vice-chancellor of the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside when Roger King retires later this autumn. Professor Chiddick (above), currently a pro vice- chancellor at De Montfort University, said he hopes to build on Professor King's successes.
"It will be a hard act to follow but I believe that the university is well equipped to develop its regional, national and international standing.
"I am confident ULH will soon be seen as a university of distinction and quality," he said.
Professor King will act as a special consultant to the university's board of governors until March 2001.
