Correction

The figures for the number of high-earning staff at Newcastle University, included in a table accompanying the article "Boom time for high-flyers" (March 17), inadvertently counted clinical staff twice. The correct figures are: Staff paid £70,000-£100,000: 67 (not 117); £110,000-£150,000: 49 (not 91); and £150,000-£200,000: 19 (not 38).
