Researchers at De Montfort University are attempting to predict which new technologies could become as popular as Facebook and Twitter in the future. The university is leading a EUR1 million (£885,000) project, partly funded by the European Union, to identify information and communication technologies that are likely to emerge in the next 10 to 15 years, and tackle any pitfalls associated with them - such as how they might be used for identity theft or fraud.
