Hundreds of technical support staff at Manchester University are threatening to strike over pay disparity between those employed formerly by the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and those who worked for the Victoria University of Manchester. The institutions merged in October 2004. A meeting of their union, Amicus, was this week considering what form of industrial action to take.
