Not only did last weekend's Secrets of the Sexes on BBC One shed no scientific light on how people choose their dating partners, it also did nothing to improve the sex appeal of academia. The team tried everything to enhance the pulling power of the rather sad politics academic who took part - but nothing worked. Anyone who would like to send in uplifting stories of love affairs snatched between lectures to counter the stereotype and enliven us over the summer is more than welcome.
