The British Society of Animal Science held its annual conference in York this year. While the conference seems to have gone well overall, it transpires that there were some snags.
Apparently, York University's policy of policing car parking got a little out of hand. The society's president, treasurer and several delegates all had their cars clamped because they had not displayed their parking tickets in time.
The society refunded the fines to all involved and has taken up the case with the vice-chancellor. Let's hope that the recently knighted Sir Ron Cooke shows some compassion.
