Universities are being invited by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council to bid for up to six research chairs for research into innovative manufacturing in four sectors: aerospace, construction, automotive and the process industries. The scheme is part of the EPSRC's Innovative Manufacturing Initiative, funds for which will eventually build up to Pounds 100 million a year.
