Ford Motor Company has harnessed energy experts at a spin-off company of Cardiff University to monitor the performance of solar panelled roofing at the car maker's Bridgend plant.
Energy Equipment and Testing Service Ltd will keep tabs on the electrical output and solar input of the photovoltaic facility, which covers a surface area of 1,040 square metres. The facility is expected to generate 100kW of electrical power serving 26 industrial roof lights.
