Universities on the West Bank are facing a massive reduction in student numbers for the coming year because of a travel ban imposed by the Israeli authorities on students from the Gaza Strip. Reductions of up to 60 per cent have been reported in the number of Gazans attending universities in towns such as Ramallah and Nablus.
