Brussels, 22 Sep 2005
The first general meeting of the BioSim Network will take place in Mallorca, Spain, from 6 to 8 October.
Organised by the BioSim Network of Excellence, the objective of the meeting is to provide the network members with a global overview of the themes addressed in BioSim, and of the research being developed in the different participating institutions. Attendance from scientists external to the network is also welcome.
BioSim is a Network of Excellence funded under the European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The main objective of the Network is to demonstrate how the use of modern simulation techniques through a deeper and more qualitative understanding of the underlying biological, pathological and pharmacological processes can lead to a more rational drug development process, improved treatment procedures, and a reduction in the need for animal experiments.
