Australian Science and Education Minister Julie Bishop’s new year’s resolution is to get more people to study science at university. She is determined to increase demand for science degrees in a bid to reverse a situation in which students who want to study courses in Chinese medicine, fashion design or sports management need higher grades to get a place than those who want to study for a science degree because demand is higher.
