Carmel Hanna, higher and further education minister in Northern Ireland's suspended assembly, has warned against alteration in her former department's budget as the province's two universities battle for extra research funding. Queen's University, Belfast, and the University of Ulster have criticised funding allocations in the executive's draft budget.
