One of the few private providers in the UK to possess taught degree-awarding powers has launched its first full-time undergraduate programme. The BSc (Hons) in banking practice and management at the ifs School of Finance, which is based in the City of London, has been designed for students who are committed to pursuing a career in financial services. Martin Day, vice-principal of the institution, said the decision to extend provision to full-time undergraduates from September 2011 was a "natural step" after the institution obtained its degree-awarding powers last year.
