Industry liaisons are 'crucial' to universities

Industry liaison officers will play a "crucial role" in meeting the government's call for university/industry collaboration, a conference will hear next week. Martin Haywood, chairman of the Association for University and Industry Liaison Officers, will add that collaborative activities have "been under-recognised and significantly under-resourced". He says wealth creation is now at the core of university life.
