An international conference on 'chemistry and physics of multifunctional materials - from clever molecules to smart materials' will take place in Tomar, Portugal, from 11 to 16 September.
The aim of the conference is to explore how complex organics are moving from laboratory curiosities towards everyday building blocks for technological usage. It will include discussions of the chemistry and physics of molecular wires, molecular machines, organic transistors, nanotubes, organic and inorganic supramolecular devices, magnetic materials, molecular and polymer LEDs, covalent vs. non-covalent bonding, molecular logic systems, molecular devices, theory, photochemistry and functional fullerenes.
