Malaysia is to increase its student intake to all institutions of higher learning by 10 per cent this year, enabling many able students who were turned down last year to obtain places. Local universities will accommodate about 60,000, private universities 6,000, colleges and centres of higher education 20,000, and institutions offering twinning programmes 4,000, amounting to a total of 90,000 students.
