Leading lights

The search is on for the "brightest Watt" to help mark the 150th anniversary of Heriot-Watt University.

The university's alumni group wants to honour a graduate or staff member who has made a significant contribution to their field or a positive difference to society, whether a well-known name or quiet achiever.

The club claims to be the oldest alumni group in Britain, and like all the best student ideas, it began in a pub.
