A new institute of sport dedicated to the study of the Olympic movement and ideals would be created as part of a London Olympic Institute if the capital was chosen to host the 2012 games, it was announced this week. Tessa Jowell, the Culture Secretary, said the institute would "inspire and involve the UK's cultural, creative and sporting communities".
