The Linux operating system, increasingly being tested and deployed in academic institutions as a low-cost alternative to market leaders such as Microsoft, gained more momentum with the announcement that Adobe Systems would support the operating system.
The software solutions provider for print and web applications is offering a Linux beta download of document management and creation tool Framemaker at its website and will offer a Linux version of Acrobat Distiller early this year.
