The National Union of Teachers seems to have gone upmarket now that it has moved its travelling circus to the last of the three party conferences. Its fish and chip supper, a hot ticket at the Labour and Lib Dem gatherings, was being advertised among the presumably more discerning Tory delegates as a "Fish, chips and purée de petit pois " supper.
