Students like web-based instruction but it has brought their tutors grief, according to a study reported in the Journal of Distance Education. Advantages cited by students include mastery of technologies, increased access to resources and increased motivation and convenience. Teachers complain of increased preparation time, lack of software and equipment, and lack of technical and institutional support.
