NETIAM, a series of workshops on new and emerging themes in industrial and applied mathematics supported through the Commission's NEST initiative, will hold an event on 'complexity at the molecular level' in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, on 2 and 3 December.
The workshop will identify new and emerging areas in which multidisciplinary approaches can provide an understanding of the behaviour of materials based on modelling at a molecular scale. Crystalline solids are quite well understood at the atomistic level and there is much well developed molecular modelling of polymers, but the complexity of proteins, and of interfaces, at the molecular level both present current challenges.
A call for expressions of interest in participating directly in the event is now open.
