The Great North Museum, a £26-million project that has taken three years to complete, has opened at Newcastle University. Exhibits include mummies from ancient Egypt, the skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur, classical Greek art and an interactive model of Hadrian's Wall. The collection brings together items from archaeology, natural history and geology previously displayed separately around the university campus.
