Cambridge University spin-off company Entropic Inc has been taken over by the Microsoft Corporation. Steve Young remains vice-president of engineering and chief scientist based in the Fens. Professor Young will continue to chair the university's speech, vision and robotics group. Entropic develops speech-recognition dialogue development and telephone integration technologies. The company aims to provide products that enable users to access and navigate the web using speech commands.
