John Barrow, professor in the University of Cambridge's department of applied mathematics and theoretical physics, has won Italy's equivalent of the Olivier theatre prize for his play Infinities , which was performed at La Scala, Milan, in March 2002. It won the 2002 Premi Ubu for best show in the Italian Theatre Awards. Professor Barrow wrote the play under a scheme supported by an Italian charity that funds work intended to explain science to the public.
