Lesley McCulloch, the former lecturer at the University of Tasmania held for visa violations in the Indonesian province of Aceh, has been sentenced to five months' imprisonment, but is expected to be released next month. Dr McCulloch has written widely on alleged human rights abuses inflicted by the army on civilians in the region.
