Scientists will have twice as many opportunities as before to bid for funding when the Biotechnolgy and Biological Sciences Research Council moves from two grant rounds a year to four. The first BBSRC grant round will be in January 2005. Thereafter, they will come at intervals of about three months. The council is also appointing a single committee for allocating studentships.
