More than £1 million has been awarded to Queen's University Belfast to help it build links with leading Chinese universities and institutions. Some £1.09 million has been bestowed on a team from the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the School of Planning, Architecture and Civil Engineering by Research Councils UK. The cash will be used to build "science and innovation bridges" with 17 world-class universities and high-tech businesses in China, including Tsinghua University in Beijing, Zhejiang and Hangzhou universities in Zhejiang Province, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.
