Reed Elsevier and Wolters Kluwer planned merger collapses

Library groups' fears over the Pounds 20 billion planned merger of publishing firms Reed Elsevier and Wolters Kluwer were allayed when it collapsed this week following objections by the European Commission's competition directorate. The merger would have created the world's largest publisher of academic journals.
