The Princess Royal is said to be poised to accept an honorary degree in law from Saskatchewan University in Canada - to the amusement of her staff. One of them was quoted in The Daily Mirror as saying: "It's very odd that she should accept an honorary law degree when she is the only senior member of the Royal Family to have a criminal record."
