A survey by NatWest Bank has found 61 per cent of school-leavers believe they will manage three years at university without going into debt. The study of 1,200 A-level pupils found 23 per cent asked to plan out the costs of university life gave no figures for rent or bills and 55 per cent allowed for council tax even though exempt.
