Scotland's only Roman Catholic teacher-education college, St Andrews, has increased its student intake by 45 to 174 for the coming year. The Scottish Higher Education Funding Council is also funding 55 more primary PGCE places, taking the total to 265, and 203 more secondary PGCE places - a total of 1,015.
