David Petrie, chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Foreign Lecturers, and Victoria Primhak, chair of the European Freedom of Movement Monitoring Unit, have announced their intention to stand for election in the European Parliament. They will focus their campaign on single-market issues. "We are a long way from a people's Europe and there are institutional patterns of behaviour working against the goals of integration," said Professor Petrie.
