Students prefer the big city

A big-city lifestyle still proves a lure for students: universities in key metropolitan areas typically receive most applications.

A study by marketing company Riley Research found that the University of Leeds last year received the most applications (41,797), followed by the University of Manchester (38,305) and the University of Nottingham (37,582).
