The job of chief executive of the Leadership Foundation was advertised this week, with a six-figure package aimed at attracting a wide field of applicants - including those from abroad and outside higher education. The foundation, expected to be set up next January, is charged with developing and promoting leadership, management and governance in UK higher education. It is a Universities UK and Standing Conference of Principals' initiative endorsed in the higher education white paper. The four UK funding bodies have earmarked £10 million for the foundation over its first three years.
