Indignant denial, from a source close to the University of Hertfordshire, of our suggestion (September 6) that the university bus service might start refusing to allow passengers to leave until they sign up for degree courses. No need, he argues, because "what is really happening is that passengers are being issued with tickets printed with degree certificates on the back of them, thus boosting our pass rates".
