Congratulations to Paul Mackney, general secretary of lecturers' union Natfhe and winner of this week's First Impressions.
Mr Mackney identified the opening lines of The Black Jacobins by Marxist author C. L. R. James and won a £25 book voucher.
The voucher will go a small way to compensating the hoary-handed son of toil for declining his recent pay rises. His salary of £43,000 is rumoured to be below that of his minions, including Tom Wilson, head of Natfhe's universities department.
