Sir Stewart Sutherland, principal of Edinburgh University, has revealed what he does in times of stress. Addressing staff about how the university proposed responding to the ongoing decline in public funds, Sir Stewart said: "What I do when the going gets a bit rough is look back to the inspiration of my youth - Marx." After a well-judged pause, he admitted he meant Groucho.
