Sixteen institutions have won funding to run higher education learndirect courses for the University for Industry.
They have been allocated funding for 845 full-time equivalent students on courses in business, management and the information technology and automotive industries.
More may be announced as the Higher Education Funding Council has allocated 2,500 FTEs for institutions working through learndirect.
The successful bidders are: Writtle College; Anglia Polytechnic University; the University of Hertfordshire; South Bank University; Chester College of Higher Education; Bolton Institute; the University of Central Lancashire; Blackburn College; Wigan and Leigh College; Thames Valley University; Canterbury Christ Church College; Greenwich University; Staffordshire University; Wolverhampton University; the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside; and Bradford University.
