Union fights to protect part-time lecturers

Lecturers' union Natfhe has called for an end to the abuse of agency staff. In a submission to the Department for Trade and Industry's consultation on agency regulation, Natfhe said that ministers should "put an end to the outrage of bogus employment practices". Natfhe has also secured nearly Pounds 50,000 from the Department for Education and Employment's Union Learning Fund to help part-time further education lecturers with no professional teaching qualification to become professionally qualified through work-based learning.
