Leading experts on Scotland's most acclaimed poet, Robert Burns, are to embark on a 15-year project to produce the most comprehensive collection of his works. The new Centre for Robert Burns Studies at the University of Glasgow will bring together the world's leading Burns scholars to create the multi-volume Collected Works of Robert Burns, to be published by Oxford University Press. Gerard Carruthers is director of the new centre and general editor of the project, which will begin in 2009, the 250th anniversary of Burns's birth.
