Scientists from the UK are to work with universities in Africa to strengthen research into science and health on the continent. The University of Liverpool and its Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine will join the £30 million Wellcome Trust programme, which involves 50 institutions from 18 African countries, as well as scientists from Europe, the US and Australia.
